CIGNA International's services and support ensure that your expatriate employees have access to quality health care while they are on assignment.

  • Toll-free, multilingual, International Service Center offering around-the-clock eligibility and benefits verification, medical and dental provider referrals, claim status, and medical advice/consultations
  • Immediate access to on-duty physicians around the world for medical advice, consultation and treatment
  • Access to nurses and medical clinicians throughout the world
  • Coordination between overseas physicians and U.S. health professionals
  • Referrals through a global network of medical and dental providers
  • Appointments arranged as needed outside the United States
  • Coordination of hospital admissions as needed
  • Guarantee/advance payment of hospital and clinic fees
  • Medical monitoring outside the United States
  • Case management for confinements within the United States
  • Emergency prescription replacement/transfer, as allowed by law, outside the United States
  • Online access to Global Provider Directories (U.S. and International)

 Worldwide Claims Administration

Your expatriate employees will find claims submission easy and reimbursement fast when they're covered by CIGNA International Expatriate Benefits.

  • There's one simplified claim form for medical, dental, and vision claim submissions
  • 90% of claims are processed within 10 business days
  • Claims are reimbursed in the currency of the insured's choice: home country currency, host country currency, or currency of the country in which the insured received treatment
  • Currency conversions are based on the date of claim incurred so expatriates run no exchange rate risk
  • Reimbursement may be made (depending upon location) via direct mail, a check deposited to the insured's bank, or wire transfer
